The 100th annual Central Mississippi Fair is planned for August 19-24, 2009 in Kosciusko, beginning at 6 pm on week nights and 4 pm on Saturday. The fair complete with midway entertainment, which includes Nash Street on Saturday, carnival rides, exhibits and several special events provides an evening experience for residents of central Mississippi.
“We’ve got many new great events planned this year, says fair co-chairman Lindsay Fitts, including the “Fairest of the Fair” and the “Mississippi State Finals of the Colgate Country Showdown.”
Families with small children will enjoy the animal barn each night. The traditional corporate sports challenge featuring local teams in a variety of athletic competitions will be held for the 15th year on Thursday night.

Of course, what county fair would be complete without a complete array of exhibitions, including flowers, photography, art, quilts and canning. The event will be held at the Attala County Coliseum on Highway 12 East with gate admission of $4.
“It should be a fun week for the whole family,” said Michael Edwards, fair co-chairman. We invite everyone to visit Kosciusko and experience great southern hospitality at the Central Mississippi Fair.
